Sure, it's easy to laugh at the Golden State Warriors' new uniforms now. But rumour has it all 30 NBA teams have been looking into short-sleeved jerseys for a while.

The Warriors unveiled the jerseys, which were design by Adidas, earlier this month to much criticism, as fans on Twitter started mocking the new look right away.

But while the Warriors have received more than their fair share of criticism for breaking out the new uniforms, they also deserve credit for attempting to start an NBA fashion trend that some say is sure to take off. After all, most college players are wearing the tight, short-sleeved shirts under their jerseys already, so it's not exactly a foreign concept to the league's younger players. And I'm pretty sure we need to look at young teams like the Warriors for what will be the next trend  ... not some of the aging teams. Do you think it was a coincidence that they unveiled their new jerseys against the Spurs? I don't think so!

It seems that every team in the league making the change to short-sleeved jerseys is a matter of when, not if.

And Warriors rookie Harrison Barnes agrees: "I think it will be a trend-setter. I think it's something it will take people a little bit of time to get used to, but once they do it'll be good. As long as I'm able to shoot and move, that's all that matters."

I'm not saying that every team every night will be decked out in short sleeves. But soon enough, every team will probably have an alternate short-sleeved jersey to wear throughout the season.

As time passes, styles change. We've seen the NBA go from short shorts to longer shorts, and now, the league is going from big, baggy jerseys to tight-fitting jerseys.

Next up, short sleeves. And who knows, maybe even back to short shorts ... noooooooooooo!
